It's a critical moment for Target Australia to capitalise on the peak shopping frenzy associated with Black Friday, a traditionally US shopping event that has gained significant traction in the Australian market.

Black Friday generates massive online traffic, demanding a robust and scalable website that can handle sudden surges in visitors. The landing page needs to be optimised for speed and performance to prevent crashes and ensure a smooth user experience.

Target Australia is competing with numerous other retailers offering Black Friday deals. The landing page needs to stand out with compelling offers, clear messaging, and a visually appealing design. Target Australia offered a wide range of products, from electronics and home goods to apparel and toys. The landing page needs to effectively showcase deals across these diverse categories.

My design situation revolved around creating a high-performance, visually compelling, and user-friendly landing page that effectively drives conversions during a period of intense online shopping activity within the Australian market. It's about balancing speed, clarity, and excitement to capitalise on the Black Friday phenomenon.

  • Ensure the landing page can handle the massive influx of traffic anticipated during Black Friday, providing a fast and seamless user experience to maximise conversions.

  • Effectively communicate Black Friday deals and create a sense of urgency to drive purchases from consumers.

  • Minimise friction in the checkout process to prevent abandoned carts and maximise conversions during the high-volume Black Friday period.

  • Australian shoppers found the deals and content more relevant to their needs and interests, leading to higher engagement. Providing location-specific details, like shipping times and local product availability, created a more personalised and convenient shopping experience.
